The South Mountain Chamber of Commerce was resurrected in 2017 by the awesome power couple, Catherine and Barry Cohen. They invested a lot of time, money and effort into setting a strong foundation for our Chamber. Something that we can all be proud of!
Recently, they have passed on the leadership roles of Chamber President and Executive Director to Luz Ibarra Ceballos and Frank Ceballos. Two local business owners here in the South Mountain Village. Luz grew up here and attended elementary school in the Roosevelt School District. She went on to South Mountain High School and upon graduation used a Regents scholarship to attend Arizona State University in Tempe. She is now a residential real estate agent with Realty ONE Group and has happily helped her clients sell and buy real estate since 2006.
Frank is originally from New York and moved to Chandler, AZ back in 1991 with his mom. He and Luz both work together as a real estate team helping clients all over the valley. He is also the founder and CEO of REACT, Respond Effectively Against Credible Threats. It is a consulting firm geared towards teaching situational awareness, how to survive an active shooter situation and other violent events, how to spot behaviors of concern and much more. Frank’s prior background as a trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety played a big role in founding this company.
They are excited to bring more exposure and businesses to the Chamber. Being community members of the South Mountain Village themselves, they are invested in building up our communities, businesses and everything that makes our side of town so very unique! They look forward to helping the Chamber increase the standing of its members and local businesses.
Frank and Luz have one beautiful daughter, one black cat named Shadow, and four dogs. Yes. FOUR. All four are the best kind of dog, rescue dogs. Luz enjoys reading, spending time with her family, practicing yoga and being the troop leader for their daughter’s Girl Scouts troop. Frank likes to spend his spare time at the gym, traveling, and volunteering at their church.
